A 2012 Airstream provides for a highly flexible research laboratory and variable-media production studio supporting enviromental, historical, and cultural explorations.
Envisioned as the centerpiece of operations for the L&J Ranch, the mobile laboratory supports our nomadic life-stye and location-based research. Our intention is to explore the very idea of laboratory as a means to define the function of the purpose and function of L&J ranch is as a platform for creative research and experimental art production. The iconic Airstream serves as home base for conducting field explorations complimented robust media production for web and social media, video production, podcasting, live streaming, pop-up exhibitions and the staging of cultural events. Research tools include a wide range of data collection, mapping and mapping resources.
From the micro to macro, the L&J Ranch utlilizes a variety of media, technology, and methods to investigate and collect 'obervations' that collectivly typify land use and sense -of-place.
